  • How to install Wordpress on Plesk?

    To install Wordpress on a Plesk control panel:

    1) Login to the Plesk control panel and click on "Domain Name' in the bottom left

    2) Click on Databases icon

    3) Click on Add new database

    4) Enter database name and select type of database

    5) Now add a new user to the database by clicking on Add user icon

    6) Fill up all the required details

    7) Store Database and database username details in a text file.

    8) Install wordpress by downloading the wordpress zip file and extracting under the domain directory and running the link where wordpress files are located.

    9) Use above database and database username when prompted.

    10) Done

    The Web Pro Edition of Plesk 12 has an auto installer for it as far as I know. So that helps avoid all above steps ;)

      Yes, Plesk 12 offers very good features, but if you ever read some horror stories of Plesk, then you will realize how important it is to know old school ways

        Haha yeah that's true. I love cpanel and when it comes to wordpress the auto installer usually available with it works great.
