Smart DNS mainly stands for load balancing via round robin DNS. Users on the Internet will connect to web servers through different WAN connection at different times. The most noticeable advantage of SmartDNS is, it provides redundancy by allowing web servers on the LAN to be accessible throughout multiple connections. Smart DNS offers several advantages, including remote configuration, power to set time to live, and inbound DNS server.

This feature stands to specify the length of time used by DNS servers to set how long to cache information for your domain name record before expiring and discarding it. Also time to live on the SmartDNS server can be tuned via remote configuration.
